AFTER HOURS WITH ANNETTE PEACOCK
Hello out there from digital dreamland. Lots of exciting things have been happening around here. I wanted to take a moment to share in case you missed any of them.
The other week Ruth, Natty, and I released more tracks from the Lost Records: Bloom & Rage video game soundtrack titled "Bloom & Rage: The Lost Tapes.” Some of these tracks are alternate versions of tracks we made for the game, others are demos we originally created for it in the nascent stages of our involvement. I really love how these turned out. If you were already a fan of the soundtrack or a Chromatics fan, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
At the beginning of April Jeff & I released a couple more new Inner Magic tracks and we’ve been thrilled by the response they’ve been getting. You can stream them here. Our friend Olive Kimoto teamed up with me on vocals for both tracks. Olive recently joined the DJ staff at KCRW here in Los Angeles. Pretty cool! Congratulations Olive!
In other Inner Magic news, Jeff and I we will be making our live debut this month opening Los Angeles & San Francisco shows for Avalon Emerson & The Charm.

Lately to wind down after a long day, I’ve been trying to listen to a different album every night that I haven’t played in years. It’s been nice to immerse myself in the music, free of distractions or any goals aside from being present and listening with my full attention. When I was younger I use to spend so much time doing this before life become so internetified and I had forgotten how much I missed doing it. I recently acquired a vintage Marantz tube stereo receiver and the sound is just out of this world. I’ve never been an audiophile but after the 70’s Sony solid state receiver that used to belong to my grandparents and that I used for the past 30 years finally shorted out for good, I finally understand the hype around tube stereo receivers.

Really enjoyed this (and am digging the substack in general). That Bloom and Rage soundtrack and your work on it is really beautiful. Very powerful game and the music elevates it massively. Been writing about it, the music and the game, a lot. Thanks for doing that (and for the remixes etc: what a gift!)
